Bayram Yalçınkaya, a faculty member at Pamukkale University (PAU) and the President of the Turkish Triathlon Federation, announced that the 4th Avlu Balıkesir Triathlon took place successfully from August 4th to 6th. He mentioned that the event, themed "Power is with You," marked the first time Turkey hosted the Triathlon European Championship in Balıkesir Avlu, with the participation of 750 athletes from 32 countries. Yalçınkaya, the Federation President, stated that their next goal is to host the World Triathlon Championship in Balıkesir. He also highlighted that the Triathlon European Championship brought significant vibrancy to Balıkesir, with hundreds of athletes from 32 countries competing fiercely in eight different starts. More than 2,000 guests visited Balıkesir for the competitions.
Currently, there is no vacancy in hotels in Balıkesir. Shopping malls are also packed with our athletes and coaches. We are providing significant support to the promotion of Balıkesir and Turkey as well. Balıkesir hosted the Triathlon European Championship for the first time in Turkey's history. The entire competition was carried out flawlessly. The course at Balıkesir Avlu is unparalleled in Europe and the world. Foreign spectators were incredibly impressed. It's a compact and unique course. There is no similar example of such a course. With our organization and course, we truly deserve the recognition and awards.
